Frequently Asked Questions
Some birds are classed as pests and are covered under a general licence which is issued by Natural England. Depending on the situation and the bird problem we are also able to apply for a more specified problem which would require approval such as a Robin within a warehouse.
When possible proofing is always the best prevention method and in most cases for the non-pest birds simply waiting for the end of the breeding season will be the best option as licences can be 'tricky' to obtain.
The main pest birds include:
Crow, Collared Dove, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Jackdaw, Jay, Magpie, Feral Pigeon, Rook, Woodpigeon, Canada Goose, Monk Parakeet and Ring-necked Parakeet.
The law for the above change on a regular basis and we regularly keep informed with Natural England.
