As this is a one off issue we would recommend that you arrange for a local pest controller (check for BPCA membership) to either kill or trap the pigeon. You can, if safe, remove the pigeon's nest if recently established to help deter the problem.
Please remember that all birds are protected under UK law and any disturbance and killing must comply with the correct general licence issued by Natural England.
